UNITED NATIONS, Mar 04 (IPS) - Twenty percent of all food bought by households, retailers, restaurants and other food services in 54 countries around the world was thrown away in 2019 -- contributing to some 931 million tonnes of food waste and feeding climate change.

Our most pressing global issues have seldom been so daunting, and fault lines in existing social, political, and economic systems have never been so deep.

CANBERRA, Australia, Mar 03 (IPS) - The COVID-19 pandemic (henceforth pandemic) has women particularly hard. In almost all countries, women constitute the bulk of the labour force in the service sector, which was hardest hit by the pandemic.
